In order to adapt to market trends, 1982 saw the formation of SA Lumber (Pty) Ltd, a sister company to FG Hoffmann (Pty) Ltd. The main purpose for the establishment of SA Lumber (Pty) Ltd was to position itself as an agent in the market place to distribute timber to large-volume end-users, consumers and merchants
With warehousing facilities in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg, SA Lumber (Pty) Ltd is logistically well-poised for national distribution.
2005 saw the advent of HOFFTIM, a registered timber brand, enabling architects, and designers etc to specify HOFFTIM as a product, in their projects
In 2006 the profile of SA Lumber (Pty) Ltd changed once again, with the addition of more products added to its range including, but not limited to MDF, Plywood, and veneered Melamine.
