South Africa is undergoing a process of transformation and change. With these changes come opportunities and challenges. Business people with vision and interest of the South African economy at heart see these changes as opportunities and challenges to be exploited. A challenge that was identified is that, there is not a single company owned by Previously Disadvantaged individuals (PDI) that imports/distributes office automation equipments within South Africa. The aforesaid challenge gave birth to a new and innovative company within the office automation industry, namely Rena Business Solutions (RBS). RBS is one of the approved dealers recognised to market, supply, and service Oce, Toshiba and Lexmark products. The “value adds” related to office automation such as consumables, office furniture & stationery.
Rena Business Solutions is an autonomous, wholly black owned company formed in 2003 by two long serving gentlemen in the office automation industry, i.e Lele Mokobane and Daniel Mogano. Two ladies, Nothando Senoa and Tebogo Mabitsela, later joined them. Nothando brought with her , vast experience in the asset based financing of office automation, while Tebogo worked and has been instrumental in a number of BEE initiative through her association with emerging BEE companies like African Legend.The company’s shareholding and control is currently as follows: Lele Mokobane 50%, Daniel Mogano 50%.
RBS has a direct goal in seizing a sizable portion of the office automation market not only in the public sector where most of the Previously Disadvantaged Individuals companies are given an opportunity, but both the private and the public sector. Through the legislative democratic change, our edge, hard work and intellectual capital, RBS is positive that it can contribute largely in the in the reconstruction of the economy.
